For many users, multimedia is the most important thing a PC can now be (apart from the gamblers). I would not have switched to Ubuntu, Ubuntu would not offer a good multimedia solution. I currently only use a program to listen to my MP3's / Podcasts and audio files: Rhythmbox music player r.
Rhythmbox is already included in the default installation of Ubuntu and just need to still be filled with the songs contained on the computer. As with iTunes or Winamp Media Player can equip with Rhythmbox playlists, in which one has as his favorite pieces of music, not to have to search the entire library of music pieces. In the music library can sort the songs by Artist and Album. A very useful feature if you have several hundred songs on the computer and looking for a specific song or you want to put together a playlist.
