Since the release of Ubuntu 8.04 LTS "Hardy Heron", is a located very nice tool in the packet data from Ubuntu.
The Avant Window Navigator (AWN), brings the already known from Apple Dockleiste
on the Ubuntu desktop. On this Dockleiste my favorite applications can store to make from there directly to a quick start these programs.
Installation:
simple "search" under System-> Administration-> Synaptic Package Manager, and enter the term "avant".
After the search is finished, you now have to have the package "avant-window-navigator" which is your mark for installation. Then just start to "apply" and the installation.
the AWN can be found now under "Applications-> Accessories"
Now you have to bring you the AWN set according to your needs and your desktop is no longer for Apple Desktop. The programs can be as easy to pull on the drag and drop "feature in the Dock. So just
choose "Applications" select an application and drag with the left mouse button in the Dock.
