PowerPoint on the iPad

Somehow I got in the last few days the idea sometimes play a PowerPoint presentation on the iPad. My brother's just down-under in Perth is on the way, told me that he raved of Keynote and so quick & dirty keeps his PowerPoint presentations.

Well, I thought, in conjunction with the iPad Dock Connector:

is certainly send ne thing. So I bought my part, I think 29 euros for Conrad. I know that on a iPad support only certain apps without jailbreaking the VGA-OUT function (eg Videos, pictures, slide shows, good reader, PDFreaders etc.) but hey I'm the ne for presentation to the iPad the projector is sure smart.


Unfortunately (PowerPoint show) the results are very sobering. With my little Mickey Mouse shows with two films and only sees the text in PDFreaders, good reader very well! - Is it a right 6MB PPT or PPTX presentations and graphics suffers from the fact that when you click on the next slide, first a "store" appears, or it takes a few moments to arrows on the new slide on the screen. Thus, the course does not take a joke!

OK I buy for 7,99 € Keynote in AppStore - after all, it works with my brother very well, and he says to me before by the laser pointer, he can simulate a finger on the iPad. But at what PDFreaders or good reader is still doing well (the PPT via the web interface times quickly push through the WLAN to aufs iPad), is not at Keynote. course, we all knew that prices will fall for the iPad1 if the sequel is here. Apple has since been very consistent this morning (03/03/2011) not even a day after that was vorgstellt iPad2, shows the German Apple Store online prices corrected for iPad1 - and my iPad (16 GB WLAN) now costs only € 379.00, € 120.00, and thus less than even a few days.

On the one hand, this is painful for me, the fall, the second-hand prices, and that the proceeds would I get for my iPad1 / will. On the other hand this is good, the price is with the iPad absolutely unrivaled. web.de (Free Web) like my iPhone no longer

Even last week I realized it must have been about the 15/16.02.2011 that I am "You've got mail" sound typical miss, which I otherwise the day one or other times hear. My guess is that web.de access via IMAP over the iPhone is a thorn in the side, has been borne out well, the web.de would probably want to use the access via the browser, otherwise one does not see all the great advertising. web.de club members is, of course, unrestricted access also available via the iPhone - but I still do not want to be web.de-club member.

SQL Server 2005 Install and too many CPU cores

am When you install an "old" SQL Server 2005, I stumbled across a funny detail. I install the SQL Server in the Usually accessible from a base image without service pack and then upgrade the installation by GE downloaded Service Pack. other day I was allowed to watch a new Dell server. A 2U high rack "Dell R710 Server. A really fine part, and as always I'm impressed by it, that is, the thing is supermodular, fan-and-out to screw everything without redundant power supply (of course without screwing), 2 CPU sockets, RAM expansion to nearly 100 GB available (and more if larger RAM-bars are available ), 2.5 "hard disks, 4 Nic's latest onboard, Intel Xeon X5600 technology, etc., etc. But I did not want to talk about the Dell server but the CPU cores.

The server has two Intel Xeon X5680 @ 3,33 GHz (each with 6 cores) fitted, or 12 CPU cores and pure with Intel Hyper-Threading Windows displays times in just 24 cores. Well, before 2 weeks I could a first look at Windows Mobile Phone throw on a HTC HD2.
